Two Old Ladies in a Jeep

I am a wildlife photographer who lives in Southwest Wyoming, and there is unending beauty and history all around me. My friend, Shawna, and I frequently go on photo-safaris in her jeep. We've been to Dinosaur National Monument, Hole in the Rock, Flaming Gorge Recreation Area, Atlantic City and South Pass City, and John Jarvie Ranch, where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid used to hide, (fun fact: Butch Cassidy was so dubbed because he was a butcher in Rock Springs, Wyoming).

Another time, when her mother, Ramona, was with us, we took the jeep trails past Louis Lake, fording a couple rivers, over to Sinks Canyon and then went to see Sacagawea's gravesite. We returned through Redcan Canyon just South of Lander

On our way North on highway 191 from Vernal, Utah I captured a fawn nursing.

In the mountains above the Hams Fork River we got pictures of a mother moose and her calf. The roads were covered with snow already and we dubbed one curve "Sideways Corner" because, although she had the jeep in 4 wheel low and was going slowly, we slid sideways.

On White Mountain we see herds of wild horses.

At the Seedskadee Wildlife Refuge we see bald and golden eagles, hawks, falcons, and swans.

One day we headed into the Windriver Mountains on a jeep trail and it kept getting rockier and rockier, so we decided to head back since she didn't have a winch on her new jeep yet and we had no cell phone service. On our way back, we were momentarily hung up teetering on two wheels, but we got safely back onto level ground and refreshed ourselves by wading in a creek we had to cross.

Stay tuned for more adventures.
